International retail is not just local retail in another country

What works in one country does not automatically work internationally. That complexity usually shows up faster than retailers expect.

What works in one country does not automatically work internationally. That complexity usually shows up faster than retailers expect.

Different countries have different rules:

different tax structures

different workflows

different payment systems

different customer expectations

Scaling retail operations across borders is rarely just a language issue. Your technology either scales with the business or it becomes the bottleneck.

Growth that followed our clients

We started with one POS system for a musical instruments retailer in [TO CONFIRM: 2002]. Today, we support retailers across [TO CONFIRM: four continents]. That growth followed our clients: as they expanded internationally, their technology needed to keep up.

To continue building Becosoft for that next phase, Arcadea Group took a majority stake in 2023. Not as a short-term move, but as a long-term buy-and-hold investor focused on sustainable growth. That gives us the capacity to keep investing in product, people and international expansion.

That matters for the retailers we support. They are expanding across borders, and their technology needs to keep pace. Not as an extra layer added afterwards, but as part of the foundation from the start.

Why retailers are moving away from large, standard ERP

More and more retailers are moving away from large, standard ERP solutions.

More and more retailers are moving away from large, standard ERP solutions.

Not because these systems are poor. They can work perfectly well, but often require extensive customisation before they meet the needs of a retail organisation. With every update, you then need to check whether everything in that custom layer still works as intended.

Start from a retail foundation

By the time our platform is delivered, it is already [TO CONFIRM: 90%] configured for retail, covering everything from stock and POS to e-commerce, stores and other sales channels.

Some fine-tuning will always be required, but you start with a foundation that already includes the main retail processes, rather than generic software that still needs extensive adaptation.

This allows you to get started faster, reduce the amount of customisation and lower the risk of issues with future updates. It saves unnecessary detours, costs and frustration, while helping you benefit sooner from software that fits your stores, processes and organisation.

New retail software does not have to mean new hardware

New retail software doesn't automatically mean replacing your hardware.

New retail software doesn't automatically mean replacing your hardware.

Yet when retailers switch to a different platform, they are often required to invest in new screens, scanners and other equipment as well.

A different approach

We have good experience with certain hardware suppliers. But if a retailer already works well with another supplier, that relationship does not need to end. Our platform can work with that equipment too.

We build software. Not hardware lock-in.

Retailers remain free to decide where they buy their equipment. That keeps the choice with the customer and helps avoid unnecessary replacements and extra costs.

For us, hardware independence is not an optional extra. It is a deliberate choice that gives retailers the freedom to shape their IT landscape in the way that works best for them.

New Becosoft module speeds up multilingual product content

We recently added a new AI layer to our PIM. The module generates multilingual product descriptions from a product image and takes SEO requirements into account at the same time.

We recently added a new AI layer to our PIM. The module generates multilingual product descriptions from a product image and takes SEO requirements into account at the same time.

Several AI agents review the output before the product information is ready for publication.

For retailers with large product catalogues, this can remove a considerable amount of manual writing, translating and checking.

The module is available as an addition to the Becosoft platform. It gives retailers a faster way to enrich product information across different markets, while keeping the review process in place.

AI where it solves a problem

For us, AI should not be added simply because the technology is available. It should solve a specific problem in the daily retail operation. In this case, that means reducing the work involved in creating consistent product information in several languages.

Revolutionising product information management with Becosoft PIM

Managing a large product catalogue can feel overwhelming. You are juggling thousands of SKUs, keeping data accurate and trying to write product descriptions that convert. Product Information Management (PIM) systems simplify this work, keeping product information accurate, consistent and engaging across all your sales channels.

Managing a large product catalogue can feel overwhelming. You are juggling thousands of SKUs, keeping data accurate and trying to write product descriptions that convert. Product Information Management (PIM) systems simplify this work, keeping product information accurate, consistent and engaging across all your sales channels.

Introducing Becosoft PIM

Becosoft PIM takes product information management a step further. It uses generative AI to write high-quality, SEO-friendly product descriptions for you, saving your team time and effort.

Why Becosoft PIM?

We saw that the traditional ways of creating and maintaining product information are slow, error-prone and inefficient. So we built Becosoft PIM to take that work off your plate and let you focus on what matters: growing your business.

Key features

AI-powered product descriptions: writes product descriptions automatically, tailored to your needs.

Customisable output: adjust the tone, style and length of descriptions to match your brand voice and target audience.

Feedback-driven refinement: the AI model is refined based on human review of your feedback, so results improve over time.

Scalable and cost-effective: built on a serverless architecture, so it scales with you and keeps costs in check.

How it works

Data selection: you select the batch of products you want to work with.

AI processing: the AI analyses your product data and writes high-quality, SEO-friendly descriptions in the tone, style and length you set.

Human review and refinement: you review the descriptions and give feedback, which helps train the model to produce better content in future.

Distribution: once approved, your product information goes out to your e-commerce site.

Benefits

Faster time to market: launch new products and updates sooner.

Better product information: accurate, consistent and engaging descriptions that help turn visitors into buyers.

Improved SEO: descriptions written for search engines, to attract more organic traffic.

Tailored descriptions: matched to your brand voice and target audience.

Scalable: scales up during peak periods and down when it is quiet.

Continuous improvement: your feedback keeps refining the AI model.

Conclusion

Becosoft PIM changes how you manage product information. By writing high-quality, SEO-friendly product descriptions with generative AI, it saves you time, makes your team more efficient and helps you sell more.

Rolling out RFID across a store network: why training made the difference

A retailer introduced RFID with Becosoft. The pilot store worked without a hitch. When the solution went out to the other stores, problems appeared, and they had nothing to do with the technology.

A retailer introduced RFID with Becosoft. The pilot store worked without a hitch. When the solution went out to the other stores, problems appeared, and they had nothing to do with the technology.

At a glance

Customer: [TO CONFIRM: retailer, name not published]

Sector: [TO CONFIRM]

Solution: RFID, as part of the Becosoft retail process

The challenge

In the pilot store, the team had been trained intensively. The other stores received only a manual. Staff had to relearn how to scan, how to respond to system notifications, and why the new way of working was different. A manual was not enough.

The solution

From then on, every store was trained as thoroughly as the first one. It took more time up front, but teams understood the new process faster and could work with it on their own sooner.

The result

A smoother rollout across the remaining stores

Store teams working independently with RFID sooner

[TO CONFIRM: add a measurable result if one exists, for example stock accuracy before and after]

A successful implementation depends on more than making the technology available. People also need to feel confident using it in their daily work.

Better inventory control, fewer lost sales

Inaccurate inventory creates extra work and lost sales.

Inaccurate inventory creates extra work and lost sales.

An item is scanned twice. A return is processed incorrectly. Or a delivery is not fully recorded.

As a result, retailers make purchasing decisions based on incorrect figures, employees search for items that are not there, and customers may order products that are out of stock.

AI with a clear job

We do not use AI because it is trendy. We use it where it solves a concrete problem.

In this case, AI can flag unusual inventory levels sooner. Employees can detect issues earlier and correct inventory before the error affects orders, availability and reporting.

The operational benefit

Less time spent searching and correcting

Fewer unnecessary costs

Fewer lost sales

This way, AI does not become just another layer in the system, but a practical tool that helps retailers work with more reliable inventory information.

Retail technology should support the store floor, not slow it down. At Madaq Chocolatier & Ice Cream Makers, mobile technology is now part of the daily workflow.

At a glance

Customer: Madaq Chocolatier & Ice Cream Makers

Sector: Retail and hospitality

Partner: Newland AIDC EMEA

Solution: Handheld scanning with Becosoft

The goal

Give store employees real-time insight into stock and product information directly from the shop floor, without extra steps, Excel sheets or searching afterwards.

The solution

Together with Newland AIDC EMEA, Becosoft helped create a setup where employees use handheld scanners in their daily work. With handheld scanning, teams can:

check stock instantly

process incoming and outgoing goods

access product information directly

work more efficiently during busy store moments

The result

Employees work faster and have real-time insight into stock and product information. In retail and hospitality, speed and accuracy make a real difference to the customer experience. It shows how practical technology can make daily operations easier without adding complexity.

How Superdry moved its stores to Becosoft

Superdry, the British fashion brand, moved its stores from an American POS system to Becosoft. The project grew into a long-term partnership, and in 2025 it led Becosoft to open its first UK office.

Superdry, the British fashion brand, moved its stores from an American POS system to Becosoft. The project grew into a long-term partnership, and in 2025 it led Becosoft to open its first UK office.

At a glance

Customer: Superdry

Sector: Fashion retail

Solution: Becosoft POS

Scale: [TO CONFIRM: more than 100 stores in 7 countries, from California to Denmark]

The challenge

Superdry needed one point of sale system for stores in several countries, replacing the American POS system it had been using. [TO CONFIRM: add the reasons for the switch.]

The solution

Becosoft migrated the stores to Becosoft POS. [TO CONFIRM: add rollout details such as timeline, waves and integrations.]

The result

[TO CONFIRM: more than 100 retail stores live on Becosoft POS]

[TO CONFIRM: 7 countries, from California to Denmark]

[TO CONFIRM: 30% POS productivity gain]

The partnership also changed Becosoft. In 2025 it opened a UK office in Cirencester with a local team, which now supports retailers and franchise stores across the UK and beyond.

RFID only works when it is part of the wider retail process

Most RFID projects fail long before the technology itself fails. The issue is usually not RFID itself. It is how RFID is connected to everything around it.

Most RFID projects fail long before the technology itself fails. The issue is usually not RFID itself. It is how RFID is connected to everything around it.

For many retailers, RFID still operates as a separate layer: another integration, another dashboard, another vendor. That works as long as operations stay relatively simple.

But once stock moves rapidly through stores, warehouses and online channels, blind spots appear quickly:

inventory discrepancies

missing items

different stock numbers across systems

It is not that RFID does not work. It is because the surrounding systems are disconnected.

RFID inside the platform

At Becosoft, RFID is native to the platform. POS, inventory, replenishment and RFID all operate in the same environment. That matters when retailers need real-time stock visibility across multiple locations.

One system. One source of truth. Less operational friction.
